Description

Only 125 Maserati Ghibli Spyders were made, of which only 52 examples with the European specifications. This one was delivered with a manual gearbox. It was sold new in Italy by Sport Auto Roma S.p.A. to Mr. Matacena, owner of the Company Caronte. His Company was managing ferry-boats between Italy and Sicily. The car first registration plates was ME123.999.The invoice date was 31/12/1969 and the selling price was 8.000.000 Lire plus tax. On 16th March 1982, the car was sold to Mr. Antonio Alberoni, for the price of 9.000.000 lire and the car registered with the new license plates BO989.093 Mr. Alberoni took care of the car as his baby. He kept the original Campagnolo magnesium wheels and replaced them with Borrani wire wheels. Mr. Alberoni had the car resprayed in its original color and let it reupholster with the original leather. On 12th July 2020, the car changed hands to its third owner, Thierry Dehaeck residing in Belgium, to complete his collection. This exceptional Maserati Ghibli spyder has a limpid, well documented history. The file includes:

The original Italian title in the name of Mr. Antonio Alberoni
A fully documented history by Mr. Adolfo Orsi, who is the international renowned Maserati specialist, with copies of all important documents such as invoices and maintenance correspondence with the Maserati factory.
The original Certificato di garanzia in the name of the first owner.
